Established in 1999 the department of Computer Engineering is the youngest Department in the Institution. Presently the department offers fulltime and part time diploma courses in Computer Engineering. The first batch had an intake of 30 students and the present intake is 60 per batch. Though in its infancy the department is not behind in achievements. Students of this department have regularly won rank in Diploma Examinations of the State Board of Technical Examinations. We have a good record of campus placements also. Most of the old students have found placement in prestigious organizations like Aeronautical Development Agency-Bangalore, Network Systems and Technologies (p) Ltd (NEST), Ushus Tech, ACCEL, Computer Maintenance Corporation of India (CMC) etc. as Software/Hardware Engineers.
The department has a full-fledged Computer Laboratory with over 25 terminals on networked, supporting Operating Systems: Windows, Linux and with all Latest Software. We also support the Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering branches for their classes in AutoCAD and Electronics Engineering in C++ and Visual Basic. We have teaching aids like Overhead Projectors and Multimedia LCD Projector. The Laboratory has a Broad Band Internet connection through Asianet Data Line. The Laboratory is open to the students from 7:00am to 9:30pm.
